About the role
As our founding Software Architect, you’ll lead the design and development of our core systems from the ground up, partnering closely with our Chief Technology Officer. You’ll architect scalable, high-throughput distributed and agentic systems with strong identity and access controls, working closely with developers and product leaders to bring new AI security primitives to life. This role offers deep ownership over product architecture and the opportunity to shape a company at the frontier of AI and security. You’ll be instrumental in defining our product direction and driving technical innovation at the intersection of identity and access management, cybersecurity and AI.

Responsibilities
Partner closely with the CTO to design, architect, and implement scalable enterprise
software systems from scratch.
Design and architect distributed systems optimized for scale, performance, and high
availability
Build security-critical infrastructure that powers our AI security platform, including APIs, data pipelines, and policy enforcement layers
Implement Identity and Access Management primitives (authentication, authorization, least privilege) for AI-native environments
Ensure robust encryption, key management, and secure access controls throughout the system
Collaborate with developers and product managers to translate abstract security problems into scalable solutions
Drive technical decisions across system architecture, language/framework selection, and deployment models (e.g. serverless, containerized, etc.)
Develop observability, fault tolerance, and auditability into everything you build
Stay hands-on with code, especially in early stages — this is a build-first, zero-bureaucracy role
Required skills
Experience developing software leveraging AI tools (coding assistants, IDEs, etc.)
10+ years of backend or systems engineering experience, with 3+ years in an
architecture or principal engineer role
Deep experience designing and building scalable distributed systems (microservices, event-driven architectures,agentic architectures, etc.)
Proven track record of high-throughput, low-latency backend development in cloud-native environments
Expertise in IAM systems, protocols (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect, SCIM), and access control patterns
Strong coding skills in one or more backend languages (Go, Rust, Java, Python)
Familiarity with modern DevSecOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong systems thinking and an ability to balance speed, security, and maintainability
Understanding of agentic AI and LLM-based application architectures
Preferred skills
Familiarity with zero-trust architecture, policy-as-code (OPA/Rego), and secure enclaves
Experience as an early-stage technical leader or founding engineer
